So far, Digital Country Music Week has been a warm blanket over a drizzly week. It's been waking up with radio interviews from Nashville, then coming home to wine and the tonic of soothing songwriter sessions. Rather than being a poor substitute for the usually live seven days of music overload, we have leaned into something different; embraced the music coming to us rather than having to race across London, and benefitted from a 4000 mile gap being closed by the power of Facebook.

But now, the weekend is here and we're about to turn the volume up! The country crew has been summoned for watch parties and my new margarita decanter (yes, that's a thing) is about to get christened, as we step into a virtual honkytonk.

For the next few days, all other plans will revolve around these six top picks;

FRIDAY6:30PM: Willie Jones in Session. Energetic talent that had everyone talking after he appearance on a C2Cfestival pop-up stage. Watch via Willie's Facebook.

FRIDAY 8PM: Ashley McBryde, Lindsay Ell & Carly Pearce live from Nashville's Bluebird Café. Having previously flown across the Atlantic and queued for 4 hours just to get into the last two songs of a Bluebird café show, I'm not missing this chance to have the in my living room. Watch Via Bluebird's Youtube channel.

SATURDAY 7PM: Country Music Quiz. It's not just the music that we love about Country Music Week In Real Life; it's a chance to connect with fans who are just as enamoured with country as we are. So we're looking forward to checking in with the country family on this quiz hosted by Lauren Jenkins. There will be prizes… Join in via Destination Country's facebook page.

SATURDAY 10PM: Kip More in Session. Lockdown has turned me into an old lady, so not many things will keep me up past 10 p.m. these days. But Kip Moore and band live recording from Grimey's record store in Nashville will do it. Though I'll almost definitely be in PJs. Watch via Kip's youtube page.

SUNDAY 6PM: Lee Brice, Mo Pitney & more. After the disappointment of Lee Brice's July show postponement (typical 2020) I'm grabbing this chance to hear him live, albeit on screen. The fact that he's joined by one of my favourite country artists – Mo Pitney – and a showcase of his label mates makes it even better. I'm now hoping Mo might support him when he finally comes over in 2021. Watch on Curb Records' youtube page.

SUNDAY 8:30PM: Zoom with Bob Harris. The perfect way to end the week, a special event checking in with broadcasting legend Bob Harris on Zoom. It may just make up for the fact I someone has scheduled a work zoom call for 08:30 a.m. on Monday. Register via Destination Country's website.

Now, long time followers will know we usually have a little drinking ‘Bingo' game going through these festivals. We've had to take some things off the list – it's even less likely we'll spot three checked shirts in a row on the tube. But we've a new digital edition for you to play along with you can download below. Drink a shot for each one you spot if you're that way inclined or simply share with us on socials using #CMWBingo but sorry it's for pride, not prizes.

Happy Country Music Week,
